Happy New Year!!

January 1, 2010

Looking forward to 2010!  I couldn’t let this day pass without posting a few pictures and letting everyone know where we are…

The xmas holiday was a little slow on forward progress but we are ready to go in the new year.  Vince has been frantically putting in the low voltage wiring over this past week (he had it off).  The electricians come in next week to do the high voltage so Vince needs to get out of their way.  We hope to have the colors selected next week so we can get the fascia on the house wrapped.  That then means we can get the sheet rock up.  THEN it should start looking like a house.

Speaking of electricity we (meaning Vince) painstakingly went through every fixture in the house (there must be 125 of them) to ensure that they are correctly spec’d and put in the right place.  The old house, maybe had 15 lights in total.  BIG difference.

We are also doing the final noodling on the cabinets.  I think we have everything selected with the exception of the vanity top in the powder room.  For that one, we may just find a nice granite remnant on which we will put our matte white vessel sink.  So many things to think about.  I can’t wait to share the pictures when all of that starts to come together.

Anyway, here are just a few pictures taken over the last week.  I hope everyone has a fantastic 2010!

The house this morning.  Dad, notice the Toyota truck in the driveway!

Looking through the house from the back.

Jim is working on extending the chimney.

Vince – working hard and sporting some dust!

Where I found Vince today when I returned from my New Year’s walk… See Dallas he CAN fit under the media room.

Hey Vince, you should get Warren to come over from England to help you with the wiring! Remember…We would hear a Poof in the extra room and smell something and Warren would say everything’s allright. Anyway, have fun wiring!
