It was bound to happen…

June 8, 2010

We had a run in with a burgler at the site last weekend.  I need to report the bad as well as the good here to maintain my “fair and balanced” approach to my blog.

As apparently happens at many sites, someone came on Saturday night, broke into the storage area in the garage and took many of the crew’s tools.   Nothing in the house was taken, just easy to pawn tools.  They knew what they wanted and they got it (and most likely had been to the site before so they knew what we had there).  So I got to have a nice chat with the police today since I was the one who discovered it.  Needless to say, we are very eager to get the construction phase over and get into the house and fire up the security alarm.

The good news is that as of today, the house is completely locked up!!  The bad news is that even we can’t get into it.  So the only house picture I have is the outside tonight with lights on.  But to fill the picture void, I have added a couple of pictures of my Rock and Roll marathon team from this weekend (thanks to Meredith).  We had such fun!!  Got to experience the evet and only had to run 7 miles – what a deal!

Lights to keep the dark elements away...

Pre-race

After (minus 1 who was running her leg!)

Sorry to hear about your tool misfortune. The house is looking good! Your running team looks even better than the house!(So you know you are really looking good!) You look like you had a lot of fun. Looking forward to more finished house pictures!
